Nonprofits cautious on the economy

Nonprofit leaders say their groups are faring well despite a marked downturn in the economy but they are bracing for the possibility of erosion as their industries and members continue to feel further effects later this year. Inside national trade associations, professional societies and charities, the mood is cautiously optimistic. Leaders say they will watch for indicators such as a drop in sponsorships, ad sales, membership and dues revenue over the next two quarters to determine the impact on their organizations.
